The Potsdamer Square is a new “city within the city” of Berlin. You will learn how this came about, what was here before, how the period of the Cold War and the Berlin Wall affected the square, and what is planned here for the future. Together, we will visit the starkly different quarters, which were erected by four big investors, and we will explore the meaning of the art and sculptures at the Potsdamer Square.
Along with the Potsdamer Square you will also have a look at the new Leipziger Square and a short trip to one of the cultural hearts of Berlin, with the Philharmonic concert hall, New National Gallery and other facilities. If you like to, we will extend the walk with a visit to the Memorial for the murdered European Jews, which is nearby.
